frayme issue 002 – cultural magazine for photography

Loved the Dorothea Lange story, being introduced to the wonderful Vanessa Kutzer etc
Great balance of interviews and photos.
And a fast and uncomplicated delivery.

Where to start? As a serious photographer since the 70's, I really appreciate the way frayme honors the lineage, while introducing the work of contemporary practitioners. When I saw that Dorothea Lange, one of my early role models, was featured, the decision to order was instantaneous. The seriousness of this small dedicated group is also evident in the thoughtfulness that goes into choosing content, paper, layout, and even thank you pages to contributors. It's a bit heady, including behind the scene decision making, but I'm good with knowing the back stories. The commitment to quality is over the top. The fact that the magazine is ad free lets the reader focus on the photographers and their work. Thank you frayme Team for this labor of love that arrived on my doorstep this election day in the US, giving me cultural and historical perspectives to calm my anxieties.

I loved everything about this issue! The content, the different papers, the care with which it was send... I particularly appreciated the long piece on Dorothea Lange (so much I didn't know!) and the intimate interview with Joel Meyerowitz. The work was so inspiring, that I even used some of the new acquired info in some workshops I facilitate. Honestly, great job!

Magnifique magazine que j'ai eu plaisir à parcourir pendant un voyage en train.
C'est très inspirant, bien écrit, intéressant et les photos et projets présentés sont bien amenées et mises en pages.
Un GRAND bravo pour la réalisation, un GRAND merci au magazine mais surtout à Ella de SIAW (Street Is a Women) pour l'opportunité d'avoir l'une de mes photographies aux côtés de parfois reconnus, parfois moins mais tous aussi talentueux les uns que les autres.
